What inventors or engineers inspire you and why?

Margaret Hamilton has been an inspiration to me since early life. When I learned about her leadership and technical prowess in developing software for the most prestigious project Apollo 11, it really motivated me to follow her journey and make something of myself to be able to have an impact on society.

How has the work you do changed the way you view the world?

My work involves designing and developing new pharmaceutical facilities around the globe. Safety is the top most priority in our industry because it has a direct impact on human life. My work has taught me to be diligent in anything and everything I do and not to cut corners.

What would you say is the most important contribution of what you do?

I take a lot of pride in the fact that our job makes a positive impact on people’s health by providing the means to manufacture life-saving drugs.

What would you say to encourage other girls/women to enter the field of engineering?

Women have created a mark on society with their contribution in every field and engineering is no different. It is no longer a male-dominated arena. Women bring a different perspective to the table that can help develop better and more effective solutions to real-life problems.
