If you could build anything in the world, what would it be? 

A self-sustained community center.

What do you believe is the biggest misconception about working in construction?

That tradespeople are less intelligent than engineers. In-field tradespeople have a different knowledge through years of on hands experience; without their knowledge, our projects could not be built.

What’s your favorite piece of construction equipment? 

Batteries; so many tools are electric now, which is so helpful in keeping cords and combustibles off the job site.

What are some ways to be an ally or advocate for women in construction?

Treat each other with respect. If/when the impulse to critique arises, pause and reflect on what that individual may be dealing with professionally and personally before judging. Trying to understand another person will open your mind to new ways of supporting that individual instead of potentially worsening an already difficult situation.
