Join Komal Hatti as she presents on BSL-2 Containment in GMP Manufacturing at the BioKansas Innovation Festival Friday, August 4th, 2023. Facility design implications of using BSL-2 organisms in a laboratory vs. pharmaceutical manufacturing set-up are drastically different. A need to contain BSL-2 in a GMP manufacturing process imposes significant infrastructure costs that are not present in a laboratory set-up. Further containment measures are required if facilities are located outside of the United States. The presentation will discuss design strategies that create bio-containment while maintaining the highest level of product protection throughout the process.
