Within the pharmaceutical industry it is customary for design of large projects to be divided into phases that correspond to levels of estimates and schedule details. In general these phases are referred to commonly as conceptual design, basis of design and detailed design. These phases of design allow both clients and engineers to understand what are the requirements to complete a design that is IFC (issued for construction). In this seminar, we will briefly review the three phases of design, review some key deliverables from each phase, and note the estimates required.
