How We Work
It’s easy for anyone to talk a good game. But, the proof of our expertiseis in the execution of a variety of complex and challenging projects. The spirit of innovation drives our ability to not simply ‘finish’ projects, but to look at old problems in new ways and to never accept ‘that’s theway it’s always been done’ as an answer. Whether it is designing andconstructing new facilities with an eye to cost-efficient, eco-friendlystrategies or blazing trails into new markets, our philosophy of turningexpertise into action gets results.
- Longevity.
- We are proud to be celebrating 20 years of providing fully integrated Engineering, Construction and Compliance services.
- In the past five years, we completed over $950M of projects, 6000+ projects completed.
- We completed more than $1 billion of in-place technically-based construction in the United States and Puerto Rico.
- Over the years, we have completed projects in 33+ states and 13 countries; Project Range $1,000-$17,000,000.
- Innovative and award-winning.
- We are proud to have designed and engineered Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Clinical Supplies and Drug Product Technology Center - the first GMP operational clinical sterile continuous process isolation facility in the U.S.
- Our work was recognized as winner of ISPE’s 2008 Facility of the Year for Equipment Innovation.
- We provided our engineering expertise to Bristol-Myers Squibb’s SoLoNOx Gas Turbine & Turbine Inlet Air Cooling project, recently selected as New Jersey’s Clean Energy Business Leader of the Year 2008.
- IPS is the proud recipient of ISPE’s Company of the Year Award, 2005.
- Going green.
- We engineered a facility operating with Renewable Energy Systems, reducing greenhouse gas emissions while providing 12 percent of peak energy demand and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.3M pounds/yr.
- Our innovative integration of overall manufacturing strategy with scalable “Green” building design resulted in the single largest rooftop solar panel system in the U.S.
- We identified numerous energy conservation opportunities for a major global client which converted into annual energy savings in excess of $1.5M at three sites.
- For a major home furnishings retailer our Commissioning experts completed several certified LEED® Green Building projects.
Our recent work for a client resulted in an estimated energy savings of $440,000 annually. In addition, completion of the project has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1,200 tons each year; an amount equivalent to the electricity consumed by 144 homes or 200 automobiles.
- By employing our life cycle cost analysis expertise, we designed and constructed a state-of-the-art secondary packaging facility designed with energy improvements such as:
- Unique roof design featuring siphonic drainage technology; more efficient than conventional drainage
- A white roof membrane and insulated, e-glazed doors and windows to decrease heat gain due to reflectivity
- Thriving on challenges
- Our team worked with a global pharmaceutical company to deliver a new cGMP cold storage facility - the largest the client has installed in the U.S.
- We recently designed a state-of-the-art GMP facility which includes various isolation technologies to provide primary and secondary containment as well as research laboratories within three floors of an existing, high-rise corporate office complex.
Our approach often means innovations that save time; we accelerated the schedule of a flexible, sterile roller bottle manufacturing facility using innovative design and construction techniques - helping our client improve three-months over their previous best.
- A packaging company was blister-packing a blockbuster product, which threatened to overwhelm its business. IPS architects developed a master planning tool that offered the company alternative methods to accommodate the increasing volume for five to six years before additional capital investment became necessary.
- We designed, constructed, commissioned and validated the expansion and renovation of an existing facility by creating a new “Greenfield” campus on 30 acres with clearly segregated Headquarters, R&D, laboratories, manufacturing and warehousing functions, including the largest Class 2 Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) storage facility in the U.S.
- We applied our knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and industry trends to develop optimized layouts and workflows to construct hi-tech, vivarium laboratories and facilities at an optimized cost, schedule and technical performance to ensured the client’s project was completed on time and within budget.
